St. Petersburg Breweries You Should Visit

St. Petersburg is a metro with lots to offer locals and visitors alike. An abundance of beautiful beaches, lots of gorgeous green space, plus world-class museums, restaurants and attractions mean there’s never any shortage of fantastic ways to enjoy the city. And while taking a brewery tour might not be the first thing you think of when planning a trip to the area, we’re of the opinion that it should at least make your itinerary. Lucky for you, we’ve compiled a list of some of the best St. Petersburg breweries, here along the beach and in the greater area. Cheers!

Mastry’s Brewing Co & Kitchen

The first craft brewery and tasting room on St. Pete Beach, Mastry’s started off as a brew pub operating out of a family restaurant. Today, they continue to elevate the beach beer experience by accenting traditional styles with influences from exotic locales. A visit to Mastry’s might have you tasting everything from their award-winning Hefeweizen to a rich chocolate coffee porter.

Gulfport Brewery & Eatery

The Gulfport Brewery team’s dream of bringing great beer and food to the historic beachside town of Gulfport was made reality in 2019. They hired a fantastic head brewer and started making some of the best brews around, complemented by a tasty menu of scratch kitchen specialties. Located in a beach bungalow, they’ve become a neighborhood favorite with a solid cult following. And their invitation to visitors – Come Get Weird – is pretty hard to resist.

Sea Dog Brewing Company

Founded in Maine, Sea Dog has an established outpost in Treasure Island, where you’ll find a laid-back atmosphere and two floors of fun. Live music events and a hearty menu of seafood and great burgers keep visitors coming back time and again. Their robust beer menu is distinguished by a traditional brewing style using two-row malted barley imported from England for ales and German hops and grains for lagers. A British top-fermenting yeast is used in open fermenters to create ales that are balanced with a crisp finish.

Mad Beach Craft Brewing Company

In the heart of the Gulf beaches you’ll find Mad Beach Brewing above the boardwalk in John's Pass in Madeira. With an expansive Caribbean and southern-inspired menu, it’s a complete, full brewpub restaurant great for the whole family. You can opt for lighter, beach-friendly brews to sip during the day or go for a higher-gravity beer as the sun sets. The selection of traditional-style beers with unique twists and a solid set of IPAs and lagers make Mad Beach a favorite among locals and visitors alike.

Three Daughters Brewing

No discussion of notable St. Pete breweries would be complete without discussing its largest — Three Daughters. From their first recipe (originally just used as an ingredient in a beer batter fish recipe) to today’s rotating selection of more than 40 hand-crafted brews, Three Daughters has been keeping St. Pete’s thirst quenched for a decade. Stop in for specialties like their Blonde Beach Ale, Nitro Kolsch, Mango Sour and Tropical Hefe.

Green Bench Brewing Company

As one of the longest-running breweries in the metro, Green Bench enjoys something of an “elder statesman” spot among local beer aficionados. But assuming that the O.G.s at G.B. coast on their laurels would be a mistake. There’s always something new and interesting on tap here, with the exceptional IPAs and sours being particularly popular. Green Bench also offers an outdoor beer garden that’s sunny, comfy and pet-friendly.

St. Pete Brewing Company

Founded to exemplify the laid-back beachy vibe of the city that shares its name, St. Pete Brewing Company offers a beer list full of crisp, light and refreshing beers that are guaranteed to help you beat the heat. When you go, be sure to sample some of their playfully bright brews such as the Pineapple Orange Wheat, Pinellas Trail Citrus IPA, Banyan Blonde, McCracken Scottish-style Ale and Munich-inspired Dunkie Dunkel.

Grand Central Brewhouse

If you were to picture the perfect brewpub in your imagination, we suspect it would look a lot like Grand Central. Less a brewery and more a campus, Grand Central incorporates a state-of-the-art European-style brewery, al fresco beer garden, taproom, and event venue that hosts regular trivia, live music, and more. Stop by, and sample a flight of brews like the Take the Cannoli pilsner, Elevator Pitch helles, and Disco Nap IPA.

Right Around the Corner Arcade Brewery

What could be better than ultra-fresh beer brewed right on-site at your favorite brewpub? Well, how about beer served with a side of digital distraction? Half brewery, half arcade, and all awesome, Right Around the Corner pours some of the tastiest taps in the city, and also offers visitors a sweet selection of nostalgic video games. Of course, the experience wouldn’t be complete without a comfort-food menu featuring bagel bites, chicken nuggets, taquitos, sliders, mac & cheese, and other timeless gamer fuel.
